Fushifaru Maldives Resort is a boutique retreat on the eastern border of the Lhaviyani Atoll in the Indian Ocean that offers guests a genuine Maldivian experience without compromising luxury and elegance. The island resort is on virgin dunes surrounded by blue diamond seas, tucked against lush foliage. The conservation initiatives made an eco-friendly resort Maldives and earned a Green Globe accreditation.

The Eco-friendly programs in Maldives and sustainability initiatives at Maldives Fushifaru are directed by General Manager Ahmed Siaar, who has been implementing sustainable, eco-friendly tourism in Maldives, concepts, and practices into his operation since Fushifaru's launch on October 24, 2017. Fushifaru is dedicated to actively participating in conserving biodiversity and the surrounding ecology.

Fushifaru strives to employ all available resources in order to reach its zero-waste objective, demonstrating that low-impact vacation and luxury can coexist. Single-use plastics are banned on the island, and chefs and gardeners produce flowers, herbs, and vegetables for use in restaurants. Fushifaru Unveils New Eco-Initiative To Protect Maldives

Along with the mission of Fushifaru Maldives to conserve and maintain the marine ecosystem, the luxury eco-resort launched new eco-initiatives to combat global environmental issues that apply to residents and guests.

Fushifaru welcomes visitors of all ages to participate in its many innovative, eco-friendly projects:

Coral Propagation

Fushifaru Maldives created and developed a coral propagation project to aid in the renewal of the coral reefs around the island, which is critical to the preservation of biodiversity.

The team intends to put coral pieces in the lagoon, in multiple frames, including one that is clearly manta-shaped. To ensure the project's success, the crew continues to plant, monitor, and clean frames. Both certified divers and snorkelers are welcome to visit the site by participating in a diving expedition or a coral restoration snorkeling tour.

No Plastic Policy

The island's zero plastic programs seek to eradicate single-use plastics totally. Fushifaru will prohibit all plastic bags, straws, cling film, and bin bags, in favor of greener, eco-friendly alternatives.

Every guest may contribute to Fushifaru's green community by purchasing a reusable bag for USD 15, which they can use to carry their plastic back home.

Fushifaru is dedicated to making a positive difference, which is why 50% of the revenues from the bags will be used to educate the local population about sustainable living. Fushifaru Maldives is proud to be an environmentally friendly island with no plastic.

Tree Planting Program

Fushifaru's "Plant Your Own Tree" Program makes it simple and enjoyable for guests to aid Mother Nature by planting trees on the island. Furthermore, in Fushifaru, food waste is composted using their composting equipment and used as fertilizer for the trees on the site.

Our Role In Protecting Future Generations

Fushifaru Maldives has several sustainable initiatives in place to lessen the overall environmental effect. The resort is built using eco-friendly materials and has an energy and water management system. Water is offered in refillable glass bottles rather than single-use plastic bottles. The chefs cultivate flowers, herbs, and vegetables on the island, while additional fresh and local product is gathered from adjacent local islands whenever available.

When you look at the ocean, the Best Dives Maldives crews have a simple goal of ocean preservation through coral restoration and regeneration programs in the lagoon. The crews and the guests placed coral fragments in many frames, including a manta ray frame with a distinctive form.

Luxury and eco-friendly vacations do not have to be mutually exclusive at Fushifaru Maldives. We were pleased to find that the resort and its visitors are concerned about the environment and have set a zero-waste objective to protect future generations.
